This disease is the opposite to Addison’s disease whereby excessive secretion of adrenal hormones leads to weight gains, growth arrest, high blood pressure, elevated blood glucose levels and red “stretch marks” in the skin called striae. Many of the features of this syndrome can be mimicked in patients with metabolic or insulin resistance syndrome.
